As I’m getting my Christmas plans set and looking at unusually great weather forecasts along the California coast, golf is definitely on the radar. I’ll be heading home for the holidays, back to Northern California. I just set a tee time for a round on the way up the coast and I’m looking forward to... Continue Reading →
The Big Thanksgiving Trip, Part 3: “Definitely Not a PLAYERS Hater”
So here we are, the main reason I took this trip: TPC Sawgrass. It’s on the bucket list of most every avid golfer. It was definitely high on mine! I wanted to do something a little special this Thanksgiving, so I headed off on this little golf adventure on the other side of the country.... Continue Reading →
The Big Thanksgiving Golf Trip, Part 2: “A Side Trip to Dye for”

Well, the dream trip is over. Sitting at Jacksonville Airport waiting for my flight home. Sad it is ending, but I am exhausted after 7 rounds in 5 days (not to mention all the driving). And of course, what would be better for my last night in Florida than a meal at the Murray Bros Caddy Shack restaurant/bar, which is right next to the Hall of Fame.
After my round today I headed back to St. Augustine to visit the World Golf Hall of Fame. Lots of neat history, artifacts and memorabilia.
Today I played the big daddy, Player’s Stadium at Sawgrass. Incredible experience on an amazing course.
Yesterday afternoon I played the Dye’s Valley course at TPC Sawgrass. Very nice complement to the more famous Player’s Stadium course.
Sorry, I fell a bit behind. Yesterday morning I played the King & Bear course at the World Golf Village, which was co-designed by Palmer and Nicklaus. Very nice.
