As I’m getting my Christmas plans set and looking at unusually great weather forecasts along the California coast, golf is definitely on the radar.
I’ll be heading home for the holidays, back to Northern California. I just set a tee time for a round on the way up the coast and I’m looking forward to the round. Next Wednesday (12/21), I’ll be teeing it up for the first time at The Links at Spanish Bay in Pebble Beach. I’ve played Pebble and Spyglass previously, so I’m basically working my way down the Pebble Beach/Monterey list one course at a time.
They say the weather has been great there this week and the forecasts look great for next week (jinx!), so the outlook is good. While back home, I also hope to take a side trip (especially if the weather stays nice) to Bandon to play the Old Macdonald course, which I haven’t played yet either. So that will be a nice double-dip if all works out.
My brother and I might play while in our hometown, either at the old 9-hole home course (Del Norte Golf Course) or up the road at one of my favorite “unknown” golf gems, Salmon Run in Brookings, Oregon. We’ll see.
Wherever I play, you can bet pictures and stories will be soon to follow here on the Golf Nomad blog.
Happy holidays, everyone!
