Private Club Member?

Hi, if you are a member of a private golf club or are friends with a member, I need your help! Even if you are aware of any charity tournaments or any “member for a day” opportunities, I am interested in any resources available. I would be primarily be interested in the states of California, Nevada, Arizona and Oregon, but I am open to invites anywhere if I happen to be traveling further from home.

If you’ve been following my blog over the years, you’ll know that I am on a quest to play as many courses in Southern California as I can in addition to my 50 states and other golf destination goals. I’ve played every public course in SoCal—big and small—so now I’m looking for any opportunity to access the remaining private clubs in order to experience the courses, play alongside people who know them well and write my own reviews.

Here is my full list of Southern California private clubs left to play. Some clubs have more than one course. Unless specified below, I am looking to play all courses there, including any designated “short” courses on property:

San Diego County: La Jolla CC, Ocean Hills, Palacio Del Mar, Pro Kids/Ely Callaway Center

Orange County: Leisure World Seal Beach, Santa Ana CC

Inland Empire: Colonial CC, Highland Springs CC/Highland Springs Village

Coachella Valley: The Hideaway, Indian Ridge, The Lakes, La Quinta Resort (Citrus), Madison Club, Morningside, Palm Valley (Challenge), PGA West (Palmer, Nicklaus Private, Weiskopf), The Plantation, Porcupine Creek, Portola CC, The Quarry at La Quinta, Rancho Casablanca, The Reserve, Sunnylands, The Tradition, The Vintage Club

San Bernardino County: Silver Lakes

Los Angeles County: Annandale, Bel-Air, El Caballero, Friendly Valley, Hillcrest, Lakeside, Los Angeles CC, Palos Verdes Shores, Riviera, San Gabriel CC, Whittier Mobile, Wilshire CC

Ventura County: Las Posas CC, Leisure Village

Santa Barbara County: Birnham Wood, La Cumbre, Santa Maria CC, Valley Club of Montecito

As for Northern California, I’ve barely scratched the surface when it comes to private clubs up there. I am open to any and all opportunities in the northern 2/3 of the state from Fresno and Monterey on up. However, the biggest courses left on my wish list include San Francisco GC, The Olympic Club (Ocean, Cliffs), Monterey Peninsula, Tehama, Meadow Club, Mayacama and Martis Camp. I would also be very interested in playing Clear Creek on the NV side of Tahoe.

In Southern Nevada, I’m looking for connections specifically at Southern Highlands, The Summit, SouthShore, TPC Summerlin, Canyon Gate and Anthem, as well as the Sunrise Vista course at Nellis AFB (need military connection for base access). I also haven’t played Shadow Creek. If anyone has a way to pay less than the full rack rate and is willing to invite me along, I’d make that drive in a heartbeat.

In Oregon or Arizona, I’ve barely played any private clubs, so I would gladly welcome any opportunities.

So if anyone wants to invite me out for a round at their club or can point me in the right direction for gaining reasonably affordable access through a charity tournament or member for a day deal, I really appreciate any help and support. Please email me at bogeysacrossamerica@gmail.com with any information. Thank you.
