There’s no shortage of golf courses in Los Angeles. The majority fall in the municipal or county-owned category, meaning you can get good prices if you don’t mind dealing with major crowds and slow pace of play. There are a few higher-end courses, too, that are worth the occasional splurge.
The awesome courses at Industry Hills rank as 1A and 1B in my book, but I notch the Zaharias course a little higher personally. I know I’m in the minority there, but I like the layout a bit more and deals are more accessible than on Ike.
These are based on my impressions of the overall design, scenery and relative value combined with more measurable elements such as conditioning, facilities and customer service (taking into account my personal experience(s) at the course and general word-of-mouth from Greenskeeper.org reviews/ratings).
